Flute & Guitar Duets for Any Occasion

Mark Hanson

This wonderful book/CD from Mark Hanson contains a wealth of outstanding music for guitar and flute. The music includes Mark’s arrangements of beautiful compositions from Bach and Debussy, John Renbourn’s classic "The Trees They Do Grow High" from his Sir John A lot album, a Mexican hat dance, several Renaissance hits, and Mark’s own compositions.

The music ranges from very easy to very challenging for both instruments. The full guitar parts are notated in both standard notation and tablature. To accommodate guitarists at all ability levels, easy guitar parts-strums, fingerpicking patterns and first-position chords are provided for each tune.

No flute partner? With this title, you really don’t need one! The music-minus-one type CD features the guitar in one channel and the flute in the other. By panning the stereo completely to one side or the other, any soloist (guitar or flute) has a ready-made partner. Or the flute part can be played by your violin/fiddle/mandolin partner, or by a keyboardist!

The performance CD features Mark Hanson playing all of the tunes with flute partner David Lee Ross. The high-quality CD can be used in performance.
