DeLovely Guitar

Fingerstyle Guitar Solos of Classic Cole Porter Melodies

by Mark Hanson with Tommy Emmanual, Laurence Juber, Pat Donohue, Al Petteway, Doug Smith, and others

Cole Porter DeLovely Guitar is the follow-up CD to Mancini Pink Guitar, which was awarded the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album in 2005.

- Mark Hanson

Mark Hanson has contributed two arrangements to this great new tribute CD of Cole Porter tunes for fingerstyle guitar. Other world-class players who contributed arrangements include Laurence Juber with a brilliant version of "I've Got You Under My Skin", Doug Smith's spectacular CD-opening "Anything Goes", David Cullen's lovely "Night and Day", and Lass Johannsen's humorous "Don't Fence Me In". Mark's solo is a jazzy rave-up of "Let's Do It". As with Pink Guitar, the CD ends with a Hanson/Smith duet of "DeLovely".

Many of us think that this album is even better than Pink Guitar. All the players did their utmost to provide the definitive solo versions of these tunes, and it shows!

Here's a great review of the Cole Porter CD.
